Armenia paid tribute to Patriarch of Ethiopia

YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS: In Armenian city Etchmiadzin under presidency of His HolinessKarekin IISurpreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians on August 27 implemented a requiem for Patriarch of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Abune Paulos. Armenpress was informed about this from press service of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin that

Before the requiem there was a reverberation to the pastor years of Patriarch Abune Paulos, his important role in the strengthening of Ethiopian Church as well as in making closer of relations between Armenian and Ethiopian Churches.

After that the friars of Holy See headed by Catholicos raised a prayer for Patriarch of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Abune Paulos.

At the requiem were present Deputy Foreign affairs Minister Sergey Manasaryan, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Armenia to Ethiopia Armen Melkonyan, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia.
