Explosive materials are imported to Armenia from Turkey, Ukraine, Russia and Georgia

YEREVAN, AUGUST 23, ARMENPRESS: During the last five years in Armenia the cases of fire because of using firing production have decreased. Dead and wounded have not been registered because of them. Armenpress was informed from the head of section of state fire and technical security of Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations Sergey Hayrapetyan that because of using fire production in 2012 have been registered 3 and in 2011 two cases of fire. In 2012 such cases have not been registered. The fire cases were created because of organizing fireworks near restaurants” he said.

Explosive materials are imported to Armenia from Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia. In the first half of 2012 68 tones of explosive materials have been imported to Armenia from Turkey.

Fire production equipment is allowed to use till 23:00 and before using it one must coordinate it with police department. The sale of such equipment to infants is forbidden.

The Government of the Republic of Armenia decided during its session on August 9 that at night hours in public places fireworks can be organized only at night of New Year.
