President of Armenia receives U.S. Congressmen

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 20, ARMENPRESS: President Serzh Sargsyan received February 19 delegation of U.S. Congressmen who arrived in Armenia on the way to Afghanistan. President's press office reported that at the supper in the honor of the Congressmen President attached significance to the active contacts with the Armenian Caucus of the U.S Congress who continuously assist in reinforcement of democracy in Armenia as well as in preservation of peace in the region. "Using this opportunity, I want to express my gratitude for the financial, humanitarian and technical assistance. This year the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the Unites States is being marked. "I am happy that we are marking this anniversary in the period of highest level of relations between the two countries," President Serzh Sargsyan said.

The U.S. Congressmen rated high the development of relations between the Unites States and Armenia. "Your devotion to the protection of human rights, democracy and rule of law in Armenia may serve as an example for many," David Dreier said.

During the meeting wide-range of issues on development of Armenian-U.S. relations have been discussed.
