Armenia to have Upgraded Border Infrastructures

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 17, ARMENPRESS: The regular sitting of the inter-departmental commission on border security took place February 17 chaired by the Secretary of Armenia's National Security Council (NSC) Arthur Baghdasarayan. The latter said the border security issues have always been under the limelight of President Serzh Sargsyan and NSC. "During the visit of the Secretary of Russian National Security Council serious arrangements have been achieved on technical upgrading of Armenia-Turkey, Armenia-Iran borders. We are effectively cooperating with the EU member states for upgrading the Armenian-Georgian state border," Baghdasaryan said.

According to him, positive developments are noticed in the border security sphere and the works, as he said, have entered a decisive phase. He said good results will be registered in Bagratashen, Bavra and Gogavan sectors where border infrastructures corresponding to international standards will be created. He said the conducted events will more reinforce and increase the level of border security of Armenia.
