YEREVAN, JANUARY 12, ARMENPRESS: About 25 thousand people visited Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum in 2011. Museum Director Narine Tukhikyan told Armenpress that in 2010 the museum had about 23 thousand visitors.
"Surely, this year's index has degraded as compared with the last year, for with the initiative of Yerevan Mayor's office schoolchildren were intended to visit museum by membership cards, but the plan was not brought to an end."
"As a result, many schools waited and did not visit museums, so the number of our visitors decreased," Narine Tukhikyan noted. She also noted the main visitors of the museum are the children, but as compared with other years, there have been many foreign visitors from Korea, China, USA, Persia, Russia, Czechia, Slovenia and European countries. "We hope the innovations intended for the running year, will promote growth of the number of visits," said Narine Tukhikyan.
