A conference of the Eastern Partnership local and regional structures launched today in Brussels. An official from the European External Action Service told Armenpress that during the meeting EU Commissioner Stefan Füle delivered speech on enlargement and European neighborhood policy.

Referring to the importance of local authorities, the commissioner stressed that the latter are the links of central authorities and citizens. Füle also called to form a format of cooperation of local self-governing bodies of member states of the Eastern Partnership, which will create an opportunity of experience exchange. In the issue of regional cooperation of Eastern Partnership member-states and EU regions Füle attached importance to the freedom of transference. "We have already signed documents on free transference with Moldova and Greece, the other day we also signed such a document with Armenia. These agreements will bring positive changes in development of EU regions," said Stefan Füle.
