YEREVAN, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan assesses positively the present stage of relations with EU. Kocharyan referred to receiving a mandate for negotiations on a new agreement with EU, in his interview with the journalists after the Government session.

Deputy Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said:

“In order to receive the mandate, the agreement of all EU member states is required. It's time-consuming in bureaucratic terms. After receiving the mandate, the negotiating side can distinctly enter the negotiation process.”

In reply to the question whether there are any countries that are against this mandate, Kocharyan said that he does not think so.

In May, 2015 the European Commission has accepted the proposal to provide a new negotiating mandate to the European Union (EU) negotiating group for a new framework agreement with Armenia.
