Bells of all churches of Poland to ring in memory of Armenian Genocide victims on April 23rd

YEREVAN, 7 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. On the occasion of the Armenian Genocide Centennial and in memory of the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide, Metropolitan Sava, the Patriarch of Warsaw and the Polish Orthodox Church served a Divine Liturgy at the Maria Magdalena Church of Warsaw. As the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan, ambassadors, politicians, public figures, diplomats, as well as representatives of the Armenian community and journalists attended the Divine Liturgy.

 In his prayer during the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Sava, the Patriarch of Warsaw and the Polish Orthodox Church, referring to the millions of Armenians who were killed 100 years ago and addressing Ambassador Ghazaryan, asked to convey his support and the support of the Orthodox Church to the Armenian people.

 The spiritual leader has recalled the decision that the General Episcopal Assembly of the Polish Orthodox Church took on 17 March 2015, according to which, on 23 April 2015, the bells of the Orthodox churches of Poland will ring at 19: 15 Yerevan time (17: 15 Warsaw time) after the canonization ceremony of the Armenian Genocide victims to be held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
