88% of Armenian participants of survey say Permyakovo must serve sentence in Armenia

YEREVAN, 6 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. Based on the results of a survey, half of the citizens of Armenia (49%) say Valery Permyakov, who is suspected of brutally murdering the 7 members of the Avetisyan family in Gyumri, must receive a death sentencing. As “Armenpress” reports, the Armenian representation of GALLUP International Association conducted a phone survey among 1,500 minor citizens of Armenia on 2-14 March. Based on the results presented by Director of the Armenian representation of GALLUP International Association Aram Navasardyan, 99.9% of the participants of the survey mentioned that they were aware of the brutal murder, 35% wants to see Permyakov receive a death sentencing, and 3% said they wanted to see Permyakov stay in prison for a long time.

Out of the participants, 87% mentioned that Permyakov needs to be tried in accordance with Armenian legislation, 11% said Permyakov needs to be tried by Russia’s legislation in Armenia, and 88% mentioned that he needed to serve sentence in the Republic of Armenia. Out of the participants, 78% has no faith in the upcoming trial and says Armenian society won’t know the real reasons behind the murder, and only 14$ says the trial will be fair and that the society will be provided with the details.
