Lithuanian Justice Minister pays tribute to Armenian Genocide victims

YEREVAN, 5 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. On March 5, the Ministries of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Lithuania signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on Cooperation in the Justice Sector. As the Department of information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, the document was signed by Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Hovhannes Manukyan and Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania Juozas Bernatonis.

 During a press conference, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Hovhannes Manukyan mentioned that this was his Lithuanian counterpart’s first working visit to Armenia and that he and his counterpart had discussed a broad range of issues related to judicial and legal reforms and the fight against corruption.

 During the visit to Armenia, the Lithuanian Minister of Justice also visited the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex, laid a wreath at the monument to the victims and respected the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated in the Ottoman Empire in 1915 with a moment of silence. The ministers also visited the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and were introduced to the documents.
