Yerevan and Bucharest to expand circles of partnership

YEREVAN, 27 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan had a meeting with Armenia’s Ambassador to Romania Hamlet Gasparyan and President of the Union of Armenians of Romania, Senator Varujan Vosganian who are in Yerevan to participate in the 5th session of the State Commission in charge of Coordinating the Events Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. As the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality reports to “Armenpress”, attaching special importance to the memorandum of intentions signed between Yerevan and Bucharest in 2013, Mayor Taron Margaryan mentioned that today there are wide opportunities and great perspectives of cooperation for the exchange of experiences in the sphere of local self-governance, as well as for effective cooperation in different sectors of municipal economy.

Expressing gratitude to Mayor Taron Margaryan for the cordial reception, Armenia’s Ambassador to Romania Hamlet Gasparyan mentioned that he was willing to support and assist in the implementation of all programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening and deepening the bilateral relations. “I assure you, Mr. Margaryan, that I will do everything possible to bring a new sweep to the cooperation between the capitals of both countries in different sectors. The Armenian community of Romania truly has a weighty role and is also interested in the close collaboration between the cities of the two countries,” Hamlet Gasparyan underscored.
