YEREVAN, 24 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. During an ensuring trial for the case of Istanbul-Armenian intellectual Hrant Dink, the court rejected the demands of the Dinks’ attorneys, as “Armenpress” reports, citing Agos Weekly. Suspect Erhan Tuncel, who is in liberty, was attending the trial, but the assassin Ogün Samast and organizer of the crime Yasin Hayal hadn’t shown up.

Attorney Hakan Bakircioglu demanded that the court expand investigation into the murder and hand the records of the studies by Istanbul’s security department and persecution division on Hrant Dink and Agos Weekly and persons having participated in the trials for the murder of the Istanbul-Armenian intellectual over to the Dinks. Bakircioglu said he wanted the court to examine the data on the computers that Trabizon’s security department had used before and after Dink’s murder. However, the court rejected these demands, saying that examination would only prolong the investigation of the case.
