YEREVAN, 20 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. The textbooks for general education schools in Armenia are high-quality, but with complicated materials. This is what Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said during a December 20 press conference. According to the minister, the new textbooks are being introduced exclusively after testing.

“This will make people complain less about the content of the textbooks. I must say that the level of quality of textbooks in Armenia has increased, but at the same time, the materials are quite complicated. We have solved the problem with the quality of textbooks, but we haven’t solved the problems with making the textbook user-friendly and suitable based on the physiological and psychological features of a child of a given age. This is a problem that requires daring solutions with the approach that if Armenians can’t independently write a textbook that will be not only academic and substantial, but also a textbook with pedagogical features and based on a child’s psychology, Armenia has to try to take the textbooks from countries with the best experience, at least for the time being,” Armen Ashotyan mentioned, as “ArmenPress” reports.
