YEREVAN, JULY 29, ARMENPRESS. Today, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received the delegation headed by the Canadian Minister of Employment and Social Development and Minister for Multiculturalism, member of the House of Commons Jason Kenney.

"We attach great importance to the development of both political and economic cooperation with Canada. I am convinced that the visits of such a level promote the strengthening of relations between our countries and peoples. Armenia was the first country in the region to establish its embassy in Ottawa, highlighting the development of bilateral ties,” welcoming the guests said the Prime Minister.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan thanked Jason Kenney for his great personal contribution to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Canada and invited him to participate in the commemorative events to be held next year in Yerevan on this occasion.

Mr. Kenney thanked for the warm reception and highly appreciated the role of the Armenian community of Canada in the country's social, economic and cultural life.
