Sona Rubenyan won Audience Award in "New Wave" song contest

YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS. Sona Rubenyan, who represented Armenia in the New Wave 2014 international song contest for young performers, won the Audience Award. As reports “Armenpress”, the award was handed over to our delegate by "New Wave" jury member Philipp Kirkorov and director of «Twelve Thirteen» jewelry company Farid Asri.

"I am very pleased to hand over one of the most important awards, because everything that we and you are doing is to make the audience enjoy themselves and clap. I am happy that this award will be in the hands of a wonderful singer, from a very hospitable, warm country. The song that you performed during the second day of competition touched the hearts of all the people who watched this competition. A song from sunny Armenia. Sona Rubenyan," congratulating the Armenian singer, said Philipp Kirkorov.

Sona Rubenyan thanked the organizers of the competition. "I am grateful to the viewers who voted for me. Thanks to you this award is in my hands. I am grateful to my team," noted our delegate. Rubenyan was on the 6th position with 220 points in the prestigious competition.

This year 16 contestants from 13 countries took part in the "New Wave" song contest. Georgian representative Nutsa Buzaladze was declared winner of the contest.
