OSCE to conduct monitoring in line of contact

YEREVAN, JULY 31, ARMENPRESS: Under the mandate of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, the contact line in south of Aghdam village of Tovuz region will be monitored. As reported by Armenpress, on the Armenian side the monitoring will be carried out by the field assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Christo Christov, Yevgeny Sharov and head of financial administration Peter Svedberg.

The monitoring will be conducted by the personal assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office William Pryor and the field assistant Jiri Aberle on the Azerbaijani side.

On July 24, in accordance with the arrangement reached with the authorities of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, the OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan in the Martuni direction. From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Christo Christov (Bulgaria) and Jiri Aberle (Czech Republic).

From the opposite side, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine) and William Prior (Great Britain).

The monitoring passed in accordance with the agreed schedule. No violation of the cease-fire regime was registered. From the Karabakh side, the monitoring mission was accompanied by the representatives of the NKR Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense.
