Armen Movsisyan: Publications of Turkish press about Armenia’s nuclear power plant have far-going goals

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 25, ARMENPRESS:

The publications of the Turkish press about Armenia's nuclear power plant have far-going goals, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan stated at the National Assembly today. He noted that one of the goals is not to allow construction of new nuclear power unit in Armenia, putting our country in strictly tensed energy situation.

The minister said Armenia's nuclear power plant is built for 9 magnitude earthquake zone and was the only one with this feature in the former USSR.

After the earthquake in Van Turkish press started reporting that the earthquake damaged Armenia's nuclear power plant and caused a leak.

Movsisyan said Turkish and Azerbaijani press has acquired the habit of disseminating speculations about Armenia's nuclear power plant.
