ARMENIAN WRESTLERS TO TAKE PART IN THE OLYMPIC GAMES OF DEAF PEOPLE IN
THAILAND

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS:Olympic Games of deaf people will kick off September 5 in Thailand in which
Armenia will take part in wrestling. In World Cup in September 2008 the
Armenian deaf sportsmen took first, second and third places. Their trainer
is the world champion Alexander Markosian.
The International Day of deaf people on September 29 will this year be
celebrated with the support of the Armenian Central department of deaf
people and the RA Chamber of culture and sport of the union of deaf people.
During the ceremony denotations to nearly 300 people are intended. And in
the summit scheduled for October the works conducted will be summed up.
The Chamber of culture and sport of the Union of deaf people opens its
doors to all those who have problems with hearing. All the necessary
conditions are created to ensure them relax from everyday problems and
difficulties.
There are sections of singing, dance and sport functioning in the chamber.
Lately the members of the center performed with Michael Kotanjian
surprising the presents with their ability to express what they feel and
suffer through gestures.
Though there are supporters to the deaf people – the Red Cross, a few
churches, heads of communities, but today they have serious problems and
are difficultly employed.
