Fog, clear ice along Vardenyats Pass
10:12, 6 December 2016YEREVAN, DECEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. The ministry of transportation, communication and information technologies reports as of 09:30, December 6, snowfalls are observed in the highways of Vardenis, Martuni, Vayk, Goris, Kapan, Meghri and the Vardenyats Pass.
The ministry told ARMENPRESS the Vardenyats Pass is difficult to pass due to clear ice and fog (visibility 50-80m).
Traffic supervision agencies are patrolling the highways and carrying out 24-hour clearing operations.
Drivers are advised to travel using exclusively winter tires.
The Georgian traffic officials told the ministry of transportation, communication and information technologies that on December 6 the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for passenger vehicles only.
