increased

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Commander of the peacekeeping brigade, Major-General Arthur Simonyan always receives positive assessments over the Armenian peacekeepers performing their mission in different countries, reports “Armenpress”.

“We have a second level assessment of the NATO standards, we have passed an exam and received our highest grade starting from participation in the peacekeeping operations till now. We receive letters with positive reactions from the commanders as well. Of course, there are shortcomings as well, and we are working on them. We are participating in nearly 12 military exercises in a year, from which 8-9 in different foreign countries, in the multinational forces. Currently we have two peacekeeping brigades with 56 and 65 members in Afghanistan, in Kosovo with 35 members, and in Lebanon with 32 members. The representatives of our partner countries always express a wish to expand the cooperation and increase the number of brigades”, the commander said adding that it is possible the number of brigades performing their mission in Lebanon will increase.

He said the Armenian community holds meeting with the servicemen, and he is happy that the Armenian peacekeeping brigade is conducting the service in Lebanon.
