President Sargsyan meets Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Emirate

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan arrived in the United Arab Emirates on an official visit on November 9, press service of the Presidential administration told “Armenpress”.

After the official welcoming ceremony the extended format meeting between the Armenian President and Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Al Nahyan was held with the participation of the official delegation members of the two countries. Thereafter, President Serzh Sargsyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Al Nahyan held a private meeting.

President Sargsyan said Armenia is interested in intensifying the political dialogue and developing the comprehensive mutual cooperation with the United Arab Emirates and expressed hope that the talks and the agreements within the framework of this visit will have their contribution to the further development of Armenia-UAE relations.

Serzh Sargsyan said with satisfaction that in the last decade the relations between Armenia and the UAE underwent a new development and more practical stage, more than two dozen documents related to cooperation in various sectors were signed between the two states.

The sides agreed that due to the firm friendly relations of the Armenian and Arabic people, today the interstate relations between Armenia and the Arabic states, including the UAE are successfully developing. They also attached importance on holding regular political consultations, as well as mutual visits at different levels aimed at boosting the bilateral cooperation.

To boos the current trade-economic cooperation rates, the sides attached importance to the activity of the inter-governmental commission which will help to explore each other’s markets, carry out beneficial investments in a number of sectors, as well as follow the ongoing reforms and innovations in the economies of the two states.

The sides agreed to intensify the works aimed at including the UAE investments in Armenia’s economy and find effective mechanisms to carry out investment projects.

Issues of mutual interest, as well as contemporary international issues, the Middle Eastern crisis, the events in the region, the existing issues and challenges in the South Caucasus, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process were discussed at the meeting.
