ARF Lebanon Central Committee supports newly elected president Michel Aoun

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. Representative of the Armenian Parliamentary Bloc in Lebanon and Armenian Revolutionary Federation’s (ARF) Lebanon Central Committee Hakob Bagratuni hails the election of Michel Aoun as the president of the country and hopes the country will take the path of development led by him.

“Armenpress” reports Bagratuni mentioned in his speech at the parliament that the stance of ARF Central Committee towards its allies is firm and remains unchanged. “I want to assess the election of the president a historical moment for closing the pages of the past and looking at the future. We all have to collaborate to restore what was spoiled in the past”, he said.

The ARF member stated that Aoun’s election as a president is the dream of all the people of Lebanon and added that by his election the pages of the past must be closed and lessons must be taken, as well as act consolidated in order to leave a legacy of a venerable Lebanon to the future generations.

Bagratuni noted that huge works must be done in the near future to abandon the despair of the previous years.

“Mr. Aoun’s election also symbolizes the understanding of struggle, patience and continuity. He must be exemplary for the citizens so as they also strive for struggle and shape a free, sovereign and venerable motherland”, Bagratuni said.

According to him, the newly elected Lebanese president is a unique individuality open for everyone. The Armenian parliamentarian emphasized the necessity to support the new president in order to be able to restore the country.

Lebanon's parliament elected Michel Aoun as president on October 31, ending a political stand-off that has left the post empty for 2 years and 8 months.
