YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS. Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Malta Fra Matthew Festing, who is on a state visit in Armenia, visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex together with his delegation, accompanied by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Holly See and Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Malta Mikayel Minasyan.

“Armenpress” reports Fra Matthew Festing paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the deadliest crime of the beginning of the 20^th century, the Armenian  Genocide, putting a wreath on the memorial and laying flowers at the eternal fire. He also planted at fir tree near the Armenian Genocide museum.

Afterwards, the Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Malta, accompanied by the Deputy Director  of Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute  Suren Manukyan toured in the museum and made a note in the Commemoration Book, which particularly reads as follows,

“It is vitally important that the events of the terrible genocide of 1915 are more properly available to those who are responsible for the events in the 21-st century. Many grow up ignorant of these events and without this knowledge there is great danger that the events will be repeated. We have to make efforts that lessons of the history are better thought and better remembered”.
