YEREVAN, OCTOBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian on October 8 held a meeting with the French delegation led by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo who have arrived in Armenia on an official visit, press service of the MFA informed “Armenpress”.

Welcoming the guests FM Nalbandian said he is happy to host Armenia’s friend Anne Hidalgo and the delegation members in Yerevan.

“It is a great pleasure to welcome you and your delegation in Yerevan”, the Armenian FM said.

Paris Mayor thanked for the warm reception and said it is a pleasure for her to be in Armenia on the occasion of Yerevan Day ceremonies and used this occasion for discussing the further steps aimed at developing the ties and cooperation between the two sister-cities.

Issues related to the expansion of Armenian-French relations, as well as the decentralized cooperation between the two states were discussed.  

“Your sincere devotion to the Armenian-French friendship has been visible during your entire activities”, the FM said.

He said they remember with a special gratitude Paris Mayor’s visit to Armenia last year on April 24 to take part in the ceremonies dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Edward Nalbandian awarded Anne Hidalgo with an MFA Honorary Medal for her important input on strengthening the cooperation between Yerevan and Paris.
