YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on September 19 visited the Prosecution of the Republic of Armenia and presented newly appoint Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan to the senior staff, board members, prosecutors of the provinces and heads of departments, press service of the Presidential administration informed “Armenpress”.

The President expressed gratitude to former Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan for his efforts and said certain progress in the establishment of the rule of law, as well as fight against crimes and abuses in Armenia has been recorded during this period, including also in the Prosecution system.

President Sargsyan wished Artur Davtyan success and with his supervision to the employees of the Prosecution to carry out more active works. Serzh Sargsyan said Artur Davtyan has the appropriate knowledge, experience, will in order to be able to acquire new achievements through the assistance of the Prosecution’s employees in this crucial period for our country.  

The President said without the progress in the judicial system, no achievement can be recorded in the economic, socio-political sectors in any other country.

Gevorg Kostanyan expressed gratitude to the President for the assessment given to his activities and ensured one step move was possible to achieve due to the joint efforts of all employees of the Prosecution. He also wished the newly appointed Prosecutor General success in his further activities.

In his turn Artur Davtyan thanked for the high trust towards him. He assured the team formed in the Prosecution fully understands the issues of our country, as well as the Prosecution and will do everything to find effective ways for their solutions and will justify all expectations.
