Exclusive exhibition to be held in Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. An exhibition entitled “From Genocide to the Restoration of Independence” will be opened in the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute on September 20.

It is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan said, reports “Armenpress”.

He said the exhibition includes rare historic flags and emblem compositions dating back to 18-20th centuries. There are exclusive types which are the flags and coat of arms compositions prepared by the Armenian orphans after the Genocide.

“It is really exclusive, the visitors will see unique pieces of iconography. Most of the exhibits are the originals. We have exhibits from all places of the world from Los Angeles, Boston, Vienna, Denmark, as well as the Armenian museums and various institutions. We will see unique flags, posters for the first time”, he said.

Carpets, engravings, posters, silver items, stamps, postcards, books and albums, as well as various compositions of the image of “Mother Armenia” are among the unique pieces of Armenian coat of arms and flags.

“We want to show what were the people’s expectations about the statehood before the Genocide”, Demoyan said.

The exhibition will be open until November 1.

He informed that another exhibition on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence is expected. The opening will take place in October. Hayk Demoyan will present his collection which will show the image of an Armenian in the European engravings of the 16-19th centuries.
