PSRC Armenia denies rumors of increasing electricity tariffs after 3 months

YEREVAN, AUGUST 9, ARMENPRESS.  Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia officially informs that the information announced by the chairman of the “Consumers Union of Armenia” NGO Armen Poghosyan during a press conference on August 9 over the increase of electricity tariffs after 3 months does not correspond with reality and is deprived of any economic or legal grounds.  

“Armenpress” reports PSRC Armenia issued a report running as follows, “Particularly, the existing electricity tariffs entered into force on August 1 of the current year and according to article 22 of the law of the Republic of Armenia on electricity, they cannot be reviewed for at least 6 months. Besides, the Commission defined the existing tariffs based on annual indexes and no revision of the tariffs is planned until August 1, 2017”.
