YEREVAN, MAY 30, ARMENPRESS. Reforms of the past 25 years in the Justice sector of Armenia were discussed and summarized during the May 30 conference, which was organized in assistance of the EU.

According to Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan, with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the voiceless and dependant judicial system vanished, and the peoples’ attitude and mentality regarding the justice system also changed.

“Armenia has all key structures of a modern justice sphere, in particular, the regulatory and legislative circles are well established, and competent human resources are present, neccessery infrastructures are being invested or are planned to be finished in the next stage, and the management systems of the sphere are being processed”, Hovhannisyan said.

The minister hopes the reforms will enable to reach the highest international standards by 2020-2021.
