Russian “Rosatom” willing to recycle ANPP used fuel
15:00, 30 May 2016YEREVAN, MAY 30, ARMENPRESS. The Russian “Rosatom” State Corporation is ready to assume the maintenance and refining of the used nuclear fuel of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant.
“Regarding the international contracts on handling used nuclear fuel, it has to be returned to the country of production. Fuel refining and recycling is quite possible from Armenia”, “Rosatom” official Oleg Kryukov said.
According to him, negotiations are underway, but “have no concrete shape, the fuel is currently in Armenia”, reports RIA Novosti.
