Media representatives arrested for extortion of MP
11:35, 4 May 2016YEREVAN, MAY 4, ARMENPRESS. One of the MPs of the National Assembly of Armenia reported to the Police that the director of “analitik.am” news website is periodically posting defaming and false information regarding his activities as an MP and his personal life.
The director of the news website demanded 300,000 AMD to be paid each month in order to stop posting the materials and delete previous posts.
The Police arrested the director and his assistant red handed on May 3, in a previously planned location in downtown Yerevan, after they receiving the extortion sum.
Investigation is underway.
