David Bowie leaves 100$ million to his family

YEREVAN, JANUARY 30, ARMENPRESS. Music legend David Bowie left an estate estimated to worth 100$ million, it is stipulated in his will that has been filed in New York, “Armepress” reports, referring to www.independent.mk.

Half of his assets will be inherited by his widow, Iman, along with the home they lived together in in New York. The rest of the estate is to be shared between his son and daughter.

Media have revealed that the iconic rock star requested that his ashes be scattered in Bali in a Buddhist ritual.

The musician died of cancer on January 10, at the age of 69.

The will was submitted in a Manhattan court on Friday under Bowie's legal name, David Robert Jones.

Bowie's personal assistant, Corinne Schwab, will receive USD 2 million, and another USD 1 million will be allocated to former nanny Marion Skene.

Duncan Jones, Bowie's son, and his daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones both received a quarter of the singer's assets. Alexandria is also to receive a home in upstate New York.

In the will, drafted in 2004, Bowie asked that he be cremated in Bali but if that was "not practical", then his ashes be scattered there anyway "in accordance with the Buddhist rituals".

Media have not disclosed yet if the scattering ceremony has taken place.

The musician's body was cremated on January 12, in New Jersey, according to a death certificate.

Then, it was reported that no family members or friends attended the ceremony, which was in line with his wishes.

Bowie released his last album, Blackstar, just 2 days before he died. Critics and music lovers interpreted the album's content as his epitaph. The album is in the number one spot in the UK charts for the third week.
