Artak Zakaryan: In case of Constitutional reforms people will turn to parliament for solving their
problems

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. Parliamentary model of government gives the National Assembly more levers to influence the Government so that the citizens are more socially protected.

“Armenpress” reports Chairman of National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan told about this in a meeting with the youth and veterans.

He noted that the most realistic way to conduct reforms in the country are Constitutional reforms. “In case the Constitutional reforms are adopted the National Assembly will become a representative body where parties will develop and will express political thoughts and people will connect the solutions of their problems with the parliament”, Artak Zakaryan stated.

Artak Zakaryan also added that from the viewpoint of party interest, the Constitutional reforms are of no benefit for the “Republican” Party as abolishing the majoritarian voting system will make it nearly impossible for any party to form majority in the parliament.

Referendum on Constitutional reforms will be held on December 6.
