YEREVAN, DECEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. Parliamentary system of government solves three important issues: increasing of political system stability, strengthening of mechanisms of public supervision on political institutions and expansion of possibilities of self-fulfillment of participatory management and democracy. Candidate of Historical Sciences, turcologist Aram Ananyan said the aforementioned during the conference “Constitutional Reforms: Prospects” organized by Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP) Armenian Department.

“World changes very quickly nowadays and this presupposes changes of political systems of the states too. Constitution of each state is an integrity of laws that over time also becomes subject to changes,” “Armenpress” reports, he said.

Ananyan also emphasized that it is easier to transfer to democratic governance in countries guided by models of parliamentary government.  

“The possibility of implementation of governance model, proposed by the draft to be put to Constitutional Reforms referendum, has been discussed in Armenia since 1995. Integration processes in post-Soviet territory also testify that all the countries of the region want to modernize their political systems as balanced and participatory decisions are required in order for the states to resist the challenges that the they face,” Ananyan specified, emphasizing that parliamentary model of government provides big opportunities for political modernization of the state.

Constitutional Reforms referendum will be held in Armenia on December 6.
