Regarding climate change a global challenge, Serzh Sargsyan stated that it threatens all countries equally irrespective of their size and development level. Despite Armenia's share of global emissions is not great and does not exceed 0.02 percentage point, in the words of Serzh Sargsyan, Armenia highlights the necessity to consolidate efforts of all states against climate change and as a developing country, Armenia has assumed commitment to have its contribution in global efforts.

The President of Armenia introduced the principals enshrined in the document “Planned actions determined at the national level” confirmed by the Government which are aimed at reducing emissions.

Concluding the speech, President Serzh Sargsyan stated that the climate change threat, as well as the current global threats recognizes neither national borders, nor international law, nor civilizational norms.
