Paris terrorist attacks united Europe, Russia and USA in their struggle against terrorism: Jean-
Francois Charpentier

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. The terrorist attacks of Paris, November 13 further united Europe, Russia and the USA in their struggle against international terrorism. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia H.E. Mr. Jean-Francois Charpentier told “Armenpress” that President of France had announced on numerous occasions that humanity must draw conclusions from that kind of acts, and today one and only objective of France is to create expansive coalition against both the “Islamic State” and terrorism in general.

“This is the reason that François Hollande visited Washington, then Moscow during the previous week and later will meet with Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel. At the Security Council France proposed a text for the resolution which calls on organizing international consolidation to fight against terrorism,” Ambassador said.

In reply to the question “François Hollande said in Moscow that Russia also became a victim of terrorism. Can we deduce from that statement that after the downing of the Russian warplane Turkey is considered as an ally of the “Islamic State”?”, the Ambassador answered, that it is wrong to perceive the President’s words within such context:

“This is not the conclusion we came to after the latest incidents. Turkey is a member state of NATO. We have big hopes with Turkey, as well as all the countries of the region related to the international struggle against terrorism” Ambassador said.

Terrorist attacks were carried out in 6 different places in Paris on November 13 evening. The number of victims reached 130, 260-350 were injured. 127 people died in the terrorist attack. Various sources inform that there were 250 injured, 99 of which - in grave condition. France declared a state of emergency, and established border controls. French President François Hollande convened extraordinary meeting hours after the attack. He called the terrorist attack as unprecedented accusing the ISIS.
