Hranush Hakobyan: Youth must have their contribution in strengthening Armenia

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. Second pan-Armenian youth conference headlined “Future” was launched on November 27. The conference is organized by Republic of Armenia Ministry of Diaspora, Union of Armenians of Russia, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Nizhny Novgorod’s "Imast" Youth Association.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Ministry of Diaspora, nearly 70 heads of Armenian youth organizations from 10 countries participated in the conference.

Advisor to Minister of Diaspora Stepan Petrosyan gave an opening speech.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan conveyed the message of the President of Armenia to the participants, which particularly reads, “I am convinced that consolidating the professional potential of the Armenian youth, preservation of the Armenian language and identity, as well as development of inter-community relations will be among the issues to be discussed during the conference”.

Afterwards, Minister of Diaspora presented extensive reports on future problems of the youth. She turned to the representatives of Armenian youth, “I know that during the period of personality formation it is very difficult for Armenian youth of Diaspora to realize their national identity, it is difficult to remain Armenian while becoming a law-abiding citizen of his country. The Armenian youth must consolidate and shape its vision of the future, strategy, considering and analyzing the global geopolitical challenges, threats facing the Armenian nation and the two Armenian states”.

Hranush Hakobyan stated that the Armenian Diaspora is multifaceted, multilayered and pluralist but has elaborated national priorities acceptable for everyone and for the implementation of which no Armenian must spare any efforts. “Particularly, the Armenian youth must have their contribution in maximum strengthening Armenia, fair settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict based on international law, organization of Diaspora life, preservation of the Armenian identity and consolidation of world-spread Armenians, international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, elimination of its consequences”, she mentioned.
