Syrian Foreign Minister: Turkey targeted SU-24 as RF impeded oil smuggling
18:35, 27 November 2015YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. Turkey downed the Russian SU-24 as the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed the tankers by which the “Islamic State” smuggled the oil. “Armenpress” reports, citing “Ria-Novosti”, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem announced about this.
“Turkey took that step as it continues to sponsor those terrorists, as well as because the RF Aerospace Forces have destroyed over 1000 tankers within 5 days, by which the oil looted from Syria is transported to Turkey”, Muallem said in a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Syrian Foreign Minister also announced that Turkey continues to serve as a transit route for the oil looted from Syria and Iraq.
