RF Defense Ministry severs all cooperation channels with Turkish Armed Forces

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Russian Defense Ministry and Turkish Armed Forces have ceased partnership over “hotline”. Russian Navy representative in Turkey, who was to coordinate the activities of Black Sea Fleet and Turkish Navy, has also been withdrawn. “Armenpress” reports, citing TASS, RF Defense Ministry official representative, ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov told reporters.
“Today, in accordance with a previously made decision, all cooperation channels have been cut between the Russian Defense Ministry and the Turkish Armed Forces. This concerns all ties, not just the so-called hotline that was launched in order to avoid possible air incidents during the destruction of terrorist infrastructure in Syria”, Konashenkov said.

The Russian Su-24 bomber was shot down over Syria by an air-to-air surface fired from a Turkish F-16 plane when the bomber was at an altitude of 6,000 meters at a distance of 1 km from the Turkish border. The jet dropped 4 km away from the Turkish border.

According to President Putin, the Su-24 plane incident in is "a stab in Russia’s back” delivered by terrorist accomplices.

Russian Federation Council suggests to temporarily suspend all ties with Turkey. Turkey has applied to UNSC and NATO to discuss this incident.
