Ambassador of Japan to Armenia studies Armenian

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia H.E. Mr. Eiji Taguchi studies Armenian encountering many similarities between Armenian and Japanese.

“I am studying the Armenian language now, but unfortunately, I don’t have much time, I manage to do it once a week and not every week. I am trying. Of course, it is difficult, but very interesting for me. Armenian is a European language but sometimes I feel it is very similar to Japanese,” Ambassador Taguchi told “Armenpress”.

Speaking about Armenian-Japanese relations, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of opening the Embassy of Japan to Armenia this year.

“Armenian-Japanese relations have been developing very well till now. When Armenia became an independent state, we established very good relations. We also have very good partnership relations,” he emphasized.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on September 7, 1992. The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Japan has been operating since June, 2010. The Embassy of Japan to the Republic of Armenia has been operating since January, 2015.
