YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS.  President Serzh Sargsyan received the delegation headed by Serbian Minister of Defense Bratislav Gashich on November 25. “Armenpress” was informed about this from the Department of Information and Mass Media of Republic of Armenia President’s Staff.

The President highly appreciated the level of the current Armenian-Serbian intergovernmental relations, stating that political dialogue between the two friendly nations has activated during the last years, economic relations have intensified and cooperation in international organizations has deepened. Serzh Sargsyan attached importance to the agreement on defense cooperation between Armenia and Serbia signed within the framework of Bratislav Gashich’s visit.

The interlocutors mentioned with satisfaction that centuries old relations between Armenia and Serbia have demonstrated numerous manifestations of friendship for which cultural-historical ties, common moral values and mutual sympathy have served as grounds. President Sargsyan also mentioned that Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic’s presence at April 24 events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is of great importance for the Armenian people. The President of the Republic stressed that it was an exceptional demonstration of friendship and solidarity which the Armenian nation will always remember.

Republic of Armenia President and Serbian Minister of Defense discussed both bilateral relations and current issues of regional and international security during the meeting.
