Political analyst: Anti-Armenian report at PACE Committee is an Azerbaijani order
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijan had made much effort for a long time to include another anti-Armenian propaganda tool on PACE agenda. Political analyst Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan told the journalists about this referring to the report adopted by PACE Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development on Sarsang reservoir.
“We could expect that the anti-Armenian procedure of Sarsang reservoir would enter the PACE agenda. Azerbaijan did everything for the PACE to adopt another anti-Armenian propaganda tool until the end of Milica Marković’s tenure”, “Armenpress” reports, the political analyst said, adding that the fact Milica Marković did not visit Artsakh to familiarize herself with Sarsang reservoir and the water resources congregated there shows that the diplomat fulfilled Azerbaijani order.
According to Shahnazaryan, Azerbaijani actions lead to subversion of Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiation process so that the conflict gets no political solution.
The political analyst thinks that the Armenian delegation at PACE has all levers to counter the two anti-Armenian reports to be discussed in January.
PACE Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development adopted anti-Armenian reports on Sarsang reservoir (9 voted against, 16 voted for). British MP Robert Walter’s anti-Armenian report “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan” was the first anti-Armenian report adopted by PACE Political Affairs Committee.
