YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan sent a telegram of condolence on November 24 to Varderesyan’s and Abajyans’ family on the occasion of People's Artist of the USSR and of Armenian SSR, honorary citizen of Yerevan, awardee of the Order of St. Mesrop Mashtots, actress of Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre Varduhi Varderesyan’s death. As “Armenpress” was informed by the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the Office to the President of the Republic of Armenia, the telegram reads:

Varduhi Varderesyan was one of the masters of stage who enjoyed love and affection of compatriots thanks to her decades’ commitment to native culture and the bright, impressive characters she created. The characters she played will remain in the history of Armenian theater and cinema as well as in the memories of thousands of admirers of her art.   

I extend my deepest condolence to the family, relatives and colleagues of the renowned intellectual.
