Mass media report on the launch of supplying Russian S-300 to Iran

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. Iran's ambassador to Russia said on Nov 23 that Moscow had started the procedure of supplying Tehran with S-300 anti-missile rocket system. Iranian “Tasnim” news agency informs about this quoting Iran's Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei.

Russia and Iran signed a contract for Moscow to supply Tehran with S-300 surface-to-air missile systems on in 2007. The delivery was cancelled due to 2010 UNSC decision to ban sales of heavy arms to Iran.

On November 10 of the current year it became known that Russia and Iran have signed another deal on supplying the S-300 complex.

According to “Kommersant”, the deal is worth 1 billion USD and Iran is due to receive the complex till the end of this year.
