Corruption must be dealt with intolerance

TSAGHKADZOR, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. Fight against corruption must become a priority for the public of Armenia.

“Armenpress” reports that Republic of Armenia Minister of Education and Science, Vice President of the Republican party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan said the abovementioned during the conference entitled “Strengthening Integrity in Higher Education in Armenia” organized by the Ministry of Education of Armenia and  Council of Europe in Tsaghkadzor.

“Corruption, particularly in the sphere of education is multicomponent and comes in multiple shapes, subsequently putting all the burden of corruption struggle on the authorities means to politicize the issue,” Ashotyan said.

He emphasized that no Education Minister would be able to control interim academic activities of hundreds of thousands of students.

“If both parties are interested in corruption, how can we leave the solution of the problem up to the authorities? In reality, a significant part of our society has the following formula in their mind:  “I either want less corruption or more chance to participate in it.” All of us must change our attitude in the first place, creating intolerance for corruption, which is very important,” Minister of Education emphasized.
