Political scientist: Even the presence of Co-chairs did not restrain Azerbaijanis

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 27, ARMENPRESS. Even enhancement and permanent presence of monitoring groups on the front-line do not guarantee restriction of Azerbaijani-led provocations. “Armenpress” reports the director of “Information and Analytical Center” SNCO, political scientist Tigran Abrahamyan made a note about this on his Facebook page, referring to the gunfire shots opened by Azerbaijan during OSCE monitoring mission. “During the monitoring mission the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office entered Azerbaijani territory via NKR. Interestingly the Azerbaijani side opened gunfire shots at the end of the monitoring mission. Time will show what will be OSCE response to the incident that occurred in the presence of the Co-chairs and the consequences arising from that incident (There are no grounds for optimism), but at least, it should be documented that even enhancement and permanent presence of monitoring groups on the front-line do not guarantee restriction of Azerbaijani-led provocations”, he wrote.

It was reported earlier that on October 27 the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs crossed the contact line from the Nagorno Karabakh Republic to Azerbaijan during the monitoring of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan. However, at the end of the monitoring gunfire shots were opened by the Azerbaijani side.
