YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19, ARMENPRESS. The delegation headed by the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Galust Sahakyan which paid visit to Geneva to attend 133rd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, met Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon Nabih Berri on October 18. As “Armenpress” was informed by Public Relations and Media Department of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, issues related to the development of relations of the two countries and cooperation at international level were discussed during the meeting.

Galust Sahakyan emphasized the necessity of developing interparliamentary cooperation which according to the President of the National Assembly is significant for strengthening the basis of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon Nabih Berri thanked for the meeting and assured that Lebanon is by Armenia’s side. In regard to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon reconfirmed his attitude: Lebanon supports the Republic of Armenia in this matter too.

Galust Sahakyan invited his counterpart to Armenia and received reciprocal invitation.
