YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the students and pupils who were awarded with 2015 President’s educational prizes for Information Technologies.  The solemn awarding ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace, during which Serzh Sargsyan delivered prizes.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Information and Mass Media of the President’s Staff of the Republic of Armenia, 28 students from 5 higher educational institutions and 16 pupils from 8 high schools were awarded with the annual President’s educational prizes. Till now 366 students and pupils have been awarded with President’s prizes.

The President congratulated and wished success to progressive students and pupils. Microsoft vice president, our compatriot Vahe Torosyan attended the awarding ceremony, who congratulated and wished success to the awardees, too.

During the solemn awarding ceremony Serzh Sargsyan mentioned’

Dear partners,

First of all I congratulate the students and pupils who are present here on the occasion of being awarded with Republic of Armenia President’s prizes in the sphere of Information technologies. No doubt, I congratulate all of us, because these prizes belong to all of us, and your success, dear youth, is the success of all of us. I am glad that in addition to the prizes you have the opportunity to receive something else today. It is the opportunity to socialize with our compatriot Mr. Vahe Torosyan, who has achieved great accomplishments in this sphere. I urge all of you to fully take advantage of this opportunity.

Of course, I also express gratitude to the Awards Committee for implementing the hard and responsible job. I believe that only those with the most merits are awarded. These awards created 11 years ago have become an important step among our society for the development of the sphere. Year by year we witness the results of our policy in this sphere. We see the proof of truthfulness and potentials of our choice”.

President Sargsyan mentioned in his speech about their intention to further develop the sphere by preparing qualified cadres. He also indicated that by developing the IT sector, they solve not only economic issues but also create a new class corresponding with the standards of the 21st century.
