YEREVAN, OCTOBER 10, ARMENPRESS. Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met Minister-President of Wallonie-Bruxelles Rudy Demotte On October 10.

“Armenpress” was informed by the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of Armenia Foreign Ministry that Minister Nalbandian mentioned, that Conference of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the International Organization of La Francophonie is a platform that enables tightening of bilateral ties. The Minister highly appreciated the principled position of the head of Belgium's francophone community in recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Expressing gratitude for the reception, Rudy Demotte expressed satisfaction over his visit to Yerevan and discussions held on the development of cooperation with Armenia. He characterized his visit to Yerevan in the year 2015 as symbolic – the year of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

Edward Nalbandian and Rudy Demotte reflected on the ways to foster cooperation in the fields of economy and culture, touched upon establishment of cooperation in the fields of high-tech, science and education.

During the meeting, thoughts were exchanged over pressing international and regional issues and ways to resolve them.

Edward Nalbandian presented efforts exerted by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
