Etchmiadzin, OCTOBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Many guests and delegates of Etchmiadzin sister cities arrived in the religious capital of Armenia to participate in the festive events dedicated to 2700th anniversary of Etchmiadzin.  

Sergiyev-Posad Mayor Yuri Potyomkin told “Armenpress” that the 5-year cooperation with Etchmiadzin was productive: There are many achievements and projects.

“I have arrived to congratulate the day of Etchmiadzin and to wish it and its residents prosperity”, Potyomkin said.

“Your city is one of the cradles of the Armenian civilization. Enlightenment was launched from this city. One of the most beautiful churches, Mother See of Holly Etchmiadzin, is located here”, the Ambassador of Russia to Armenia, Ivan Volinkin said.

Ambassador of Romania to Armenia, Sorin Vasile, emphasized that Etchmiadzin is greatly respected among Romanians, as they learnt a lot about Armenians and Etchmiadzin thank to Vazgen I Catholicos.

“If Yerevan is the heart and economy of Armenia, Etchmiadzin is the soul of Armenia. I wish you all the best”, Vasile said.
