YERREVAN, OCTOBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Vahram Baghdasaryan, head of RPA parliamentary faction, responded to the speeches of opposition deputies, who deviated from the main subject and criticized the authorities during the discussion of the report on the activities of Public Television in 2014.

He referred to the announcement of “Armenian National Congress” deputy Levon Zurabyan who argued that the Public Television is engaged in “idiotizing” the public keeping them away from politics, which is done at the request of the authorities. “I regret that our opposition figures do not follow the Public Television closely, because the Republican deputies complain that the entire broadcast is flooded by the opposition. And I say that we should be happy because when they appear on the screens, little is left for us to do”, Vahram Baghdasaryan mentioned.

RPA faction head referred also to the speech of “Heritage” faction head Zaruhi Postanjyan, who devoted her speech to Constitutional reforms and calls of disobedience. Vahram Baghdasaryan mentioned that it would be very good if Postanjyan’s speech was broadcasted more often so that people could see who they have sent to the Parliament.

Head of RPA parliamentary faction added that unfortunately the Armenian youth does not recognize the famous Armenians, instead they recognize very well soap-opera actors, and mentioned that religious, cultural and educational programs should have more coverage, which are of key importance for preservation of national values.
